    Mothers Day Pancake Breakfast Update

Pancake Charlie’s Crew was up to the task this past Mothers Day. Over 100 guests showed up for the 27th anniversary of this culinary delight. Of course it couldn’t fail; we had our secret mixture of ingredients blended by Alan Purcell and Jack Meehan. We had those masters of the heat, Bobby Quinn and Dennis Sullivan who manned the grill and produced perfect pancakes all morning. Kevin Morgan kept everybody in order and still managed to serve up the sausages and corned beef hash. The answers to the questions on everybody’s minds… “No, he didn’t eat all the hash”, “Yes, he tried”, “Yes, he left with a doggy sack”.
Walt Farrell was serious about his squeeze this morning. Fresh made coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice was the order of the day. Frank Lynch traded his beer tap for a syrup ladle. I heard it took two days to peel the sticky ladle out of his hand when all was said and done.
Thanks to Patrick and Top Hat Catering for his perfect eggs to order. Very special thanks to his mother Kathy (who do you think taught him how to make perfect eggs). Nobody got by the door without paying though we did refund mothers if the baby was on their own formula.

    Truly a Great Day

    Hey, Sons and Daughters!

As well as the Mother's Day Breakfast here's a little more food for thought.

"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie." ~ Tenneva Jordan.

Thank You Mom, A Poem by James Ruka.
Thank You Mom-for holding me in your loving arms every time I cried.
Thank You Mom-for changing my diaper and singing me to sleep.
Thank You Mom-for holding my hand as you walked me to the bus my first day of school.
Thank You Mom-for trudging through the snow each winter to watch me in the school play.
Thank You Mom-for cooking my favorite dinner the night I struck out to end the game.
Thank You Mom-for calling to say "I love you" the night I slept over Aunt Stephanie's.
Thank You Mom-for bringing out the lemonade when we played baseball.
    Thank You Mom-for laughing often.
Thank You Mom-for punishing me the first time I came home drunk.
Thank You Mom-for writing me that letter the day I was rejected from college.
Thank You Mom-for giving me a bag full of groceries every time I came home to visit.
Thank You Mom-for praying for me before you close your eyes each night.
Thank You Mom-for having the strength to give me life, even after God took Matthew.
Thank You Mom-for saving me some chocolate chip cookies.
Thank You Mom-for teaching me to believe in myself.
Thank You Mom-for telling me stories about my grandparents.
Thank You Mom-for showing me how to help those less fortunate than me.
Thank You Mom-for saying "I Love You" every time I see you.
Thank You Mom-for bringing a smile to my face every time I think of you.
