    Jack Williams Golf Recap

The heat was on but our Friendly Sons golfers were more than ready to conquer the course. The "No Coolers" rule was constantly violated… hope the Triple Crown foursome is okay. They were unlisted on the chart start-up sheet, maybe it was because of Jamie O’Kane, they had never seen wooden clubs.

Jack McCarthy wants Joe Patterson’s score card reviewed… who checks scores over 120? Danny Beaumont was on his game, he traveled to Ireland to practice, so it was from Ballybunion to Knob Hill. Mike Falzone got to know the course ranger real well. That lady driving along the roadway thought she was safe but Kevin is great at hitting moving targets. He’s like a sniper with a 9 iron. I’m not going to mention how many Mulligans Alan took, numbers that big are just plain embarrassing.

    Our Winners!
Low Gross: John Sheridan - Waterford Crystal trophy, also Willie Sheridan presented him sneakers (looked old and used - the other was 1 doz. Golf balls disguised as salt and pepper shakers). What man wouldn’t be happy with 12 balls.

Low Net: Pat Connor – He too has a great collection of Waterford trophies with all of his wins.

Grateful thanks go out to the following…

Golf Committee: Jim Byrne-Frank Lynch-Frank Hines
Banquet: Pat Donnelly and his crew (especially Eileen)
Sponsors: Thanks so much for a great participation hope you liked the signs.

    Chairman Joe

An FSOS golf update from Ocean City, Maryland.

With a large contingent of the FSOS membership sharing a male bonding experience down in Maryland, Joe Patterson, Chairman of the Entertainment Committee has been hard at work to see that all goes well. Seen here Joe is deep in the zone, focused on his game plan for the weekend. At least that's the way it looks. And just how seriously does he take this job? When he goes to bed... he takes his chair with him!

The FSOS 2008 Jack Williams Golf Outing

KnobHill.jpgWhat a day. The weather was stunning... okay it was cloudly all day. But if the weather didn't look good at least we did. A regular fashion parade... okay a lot of plaid. But at least the golf play was, how can I put this, something to behold. Try to imagine an epileptic cat swinging a golf club. Well if you'd been here that exercise would so much easier. Balls were flying everywhere, at one point it looked like all groundskeepers were called in for safety reasons and air traffic was being rerouted to Phili until the event was over.

According to Charlie Donnelly, "I'm sure they had to close down the course for repairs after we played."

Winners:  Low Gross - John Sheridan - 82
                   Low Net -    Ed Brannigan -  72
                   High Score- Jack McCarthy (***)
Closest to the pin hole # 6  Don O'Malley 4'10"
And of course the coveted Most mulligans award went to,  guess who?  I told the plumber from the UN I wouldn't mention his name.
