Jack McCarthy wants Joe Patterson’s score card reviewed… who checks scores over 120? Danny Beaumont was on his game, he traveled to Ireland to practice, so it was from Ballybunion to Knob Hill. Mike Falzone got to know the course ranger real well. That lady driving along the roadway thought she was safe but Kevin is great at hitting moving targets. He’s like a sniper with a 9 iron. I’m not going to mention how many Mulligans Alan took, numbers that big are just plain embarrassing.

Our Winners!
Low Gross: John Sheridan - Waterford Crystal trophy, also Willie Sheridan presented him sneakers (looked old and used - the other was 1 doz. Golf balls disguised as salt and pepper shakers). What man wouldn’t be happy with 12 balls.

The weather was gorgeous and so were the people. While young, old and some very old players started the day with high hopes, in the end we could only have one winner, so congrats to the Lime green team. June 5 was the 11th Annual Pig Roast. It was our most successful to date. Only a few of the turkeys were incinerated but that didn't stop folks lining up for them and porky. Grill Masters, Turkey Friars, Pork Rangers and Burger Meisters were all in top form keeping the crowd well fed.

Mr Sheridan kept all the kids on the go with his plethora of competitions. He also had one for the ladies. Some were still spinning at the end of the night. Needless to say, this staple of the FSOS calendar just keeps on growing while the day after we keep on groaning. Cheers to all participants and thank you so much for making this the success it is.

Jack felt that we needed a little character building and what better way to accomplish this than to put all on the side of a mountain to drive a ball along it's sceanic slopes. Do you know how far a ball can roll when the green is on the side of a mountain.... very far and they have bear on that mountain. As a by the way, the answer to the question, "If a Friendly Son plays golf on the side of a mountain will anyone hear him cry?" Yep, and we'll make fun of him afterwards.

Kudos to Walter Farrell for helping Alan Purcell get his golf game together. Kudos to Kevin Wyer for taking time from Brokeback to join us. They really helped the guys grow as individuals. Pretty sure we all returned home better husbands to a man. So we should definitely do this again next year... for our wives... really.

Just ask Kevin Morgan... he was hearing them all night long and on this night he was Dancing with the Stars. Kevin had the moves and so did most of the attendees at the FSOS Annual Dinner Dance. Though some of us are more challanged than others in that area and for safety reasons it's best that we keep our feet firmly planted in reality.

Held once again in the lovely ballroom of the Crown Plaza at Jamesburg, the Dinner Dance Committee planned and delivered a wonderful evening to all. Live music with Vinney and E.J., and cold cold cocktails welcomed guests as they arrived in the bar. The grand ballroom with music provided by Primitive Soul, warm lighting, beautifully laid tables and men in kilts was quite the setting for the event.

Irishman of the Year, Kevin Wyer accepted his award with grace and invited all previous winners of the award to join him for a photo. This was the first year in memory that there were no new officers to be welcomed and yet we celebrated anyway. When Tiny led in the FSOS Pipes and Drums, the entire hotel knew about it. We celebrated being Irish, we celebrated our kinship, we celebrated our friendship and by God we danced.

On a final note, if Kevin's feet moved like the wind, Lorraine Schuld's hands were a blur. By the time she was finished with John Sheridan (on the dance floor) his rear had more fingerprints than the FBI. Apparently, Lorraine is not showing any signs of slowing down.
