Football comes to the FSOS
Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 06:44AM It started out with hard work and some amazing fetes of athleticism, and that was just setting up the beer stand. The weather was gorgeous and so were the people. While young, old and some very old players started the day with high hopes, in the end we could only have one winner, so congrats to the Lime green team. Have to say, Scottie Fitz's son played a blinder showing a real talent for the game... must be adopted!!!
All agreed it was a great day out, so roll on next year.
Cheers to "Team Life Support" for providing oxygen, CPR and counseling to those who weren't accustomed to playing a sport where timeouts don't occur after every play.
Special thanks to John Sheridan for organizing another terrific event at our great club, all the players, Scott Fitz for his excellent officiating skills, Gary Murphy and Frank McFadden for manning the grills, Jimmy Morris for making sure we had plenty of fluids on a hot day, and a big thanks to Lori Burns (AKA Mrs. Burnsey) for organizing the food and beverage.
