The Order Of The Friendly Sons Of The Shillelagh

It's been a month since we posted our last update on this (Full Story). Since then your donations have mounted and what a daunting task we faced when the time came to inventory the goods.

There are a lot of folks to thank and though I won't use names I feel they should be recognized. A very special thanks to the students, parents and faculties of Jonas Salk and Carl Sandburg Middle Schools. Together they produced a mountain of goods that will now be shipped our soldiers abroad where they can be put to good use. An extra special thanks to the teachers who put so much effort into organizing the collections. Without their kind hearts and willingness to organize these goods would not have made it to us. To all the kids who went home and remembered to bring something back in, Well Done! The dog didn't eat your homework this time. To all the parents that gave there support, Thank You once again.

To the Scouts, Guides and their leaders, for coming in week after week with supplies, a much deserved Thank You. To all the folks who remembered while at the supermarket to get something for the troops, Thank You.

In what in itself is a silent tribute it should be noted that nobody put their name on these donations. They simply came and gave to the troops. Wanting to do something they made the effort and drove to the FSOS to drop off the goods. They came to aid America's Sons and Daughters anonymously. To all of you.... Thank You and God Bless You.

We will continue to collect over the next two weeks and will make a final posting when the goods are shipped. So if you have more to bring please do. I've updated the list of goods that have come in... there was a lot to update. Suggestions for what is still needed: Batteries, puzzle books,  DVDs, XBox and PS2 Games, Board Games. Toilet tissue and bug spray are also in high demand... just can't make this stuff up!
